ABOUT CROAKIES

In 1977, a local ski patrolman from Jackson Hole Mountain Resort in Wyoming came up with the idea for an eyewear retainer that could grip his shades through all kinds of alpine adventures. Using an old wetsuit, sharp scissors, and American ingenuity, he created the first pair of eyewear retainers. Based on the design of a Chinese finger trap, this inventive device quickly became popular among patrollers. Demand grew quickly for the nameless invention, and the term 'croakies' stuck as the first neoprene eyewear retainer was born.

Croakies was founded in the mountains of Jackson, Wyoming, and to this day, the brand's manufacturing facility in Bozeman, Montana keeps the brand close to its outdoor roots.
