ABOUT CROAKIES

Croakies was founded in 1977 by a ski patrolman at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort in Wyoming who wanted an eyewear retainer that could withstand his alpine adventures. Using an old wetsuit and some creativity, he invented the first pair of eyewear retainers inspired by the design of a Chinese finger trap. The patrolmen nicknamed them 'croakies,' and the name stuck.
